GUI Artist for Rebellion Oxford, UK

REBELLION needs an enthusiastic GUI artist devoted to producing intuitive, stylish and cutting-edge user interface experiences for games on all current platforms. The successful applicant will be passionate, self-driven and talented, with a genuine interest in playing games. Game industry experience is not essential but you must have experience of creating graphical user interfaces. Please include a link to your portfolio of examples demonstrating outstanding visual and technical ability. 

Responsibilities: 

• Creation of GUI / HUD design for Rebellion games 

• Create, design and implement both static and animating 2D/3D elements 

• Rapid creation of GUI prototypes 

• Follow the GUI creation process from concept through to completion 

• Work to a functional and aesthetic brief, within technical constraints, adapting to different art styles 

• Work effectively with minimal levels of guidance, prioritising and scheduling your own work 

• Be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure 

• Collaborate productively within a multi-disciplined team environment 

Skills: 

• Awareness of best selling games and the graphical styles they employ 

• Good knowledge of Flash/Action Script, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects 

• Skilled in GUI Design, Animation and Texturing 

• Understanding of composition, lighting, color theory 

• Strong illustration, graphic design, motion graphics and layout skills 

• Strong understanding of modern user interface design principles 

• Good written and verbal communication skills, willingness to accept and follow direction 

• Experience with 3D packages and/or font design and creation would be an advantage
