Job description:
The Quality Assurance Lead will work under the Engineering Director. The lead will test video games and applications and act as a coordinator for the quality assurance team. The job incumbent will work in a dynamic and passionate team and interact with software engineers from Montreal and California. More specifically, the person will be required to:
- Determine the team's priorities
- Supervise the quality assurance team (quality control, respect deadlines, hiring process, mediation between QAs and hardware vendors' employees)
- Report any problem to the certification manager
- Collaborate with the Montreal QA coordinator to standardize test procedures
- Certify and test software to ensure conformity with required specifications and quality standards
- Perform tests on equipment similar to that installed on aircrafts and prepare loadable media
- Operate embedded systems, use different software and prepare media releases
- Report test results and defects
- Use a defect (bug) tracking system and interact with on-site and remote software engineers
- Follow up on defects and corrections
- Participate in problem resolution
- Carry out debugging and software engineering when needed
- Be involved in QA process improvement and related documentation.
Requirements and knowledge
- College diploma or equivalent experience in computer science
- Knowledge of programming, OOP and C/C++
- 2 years minimum experience in software testing
- 1 year minimum of experience managing a team
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux
- Knowledge of Linux shell scripting
- Knowledge of compression software (ZIP,GZIP)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license (to move from one site to another in the Irvine area).
